@5 while the community has been pretty decent for years (a rarity on anonymous forums), RAL lacks some features considered critical
Personally, I prefer the ability to bump threads, like Kareha, instead of the yearly catalog format. It makes it harder to see which threads are active, and places much greater importance on newer threads, which makes it even easier for older VIP-quality threads to be hidden from first glance.

All that being said, RALEE is still probably the best alt-community I infrequently lurk. I keep hoping bunkerchan gets better, but the only active board is /leftypol/ and, well, it's /leftypol/ (nothing against leftism, I just don't like *any* /pol/)

@6 Bumbing threads is a nice idea go to /meta/.
Yeah ralee is a very nice textboard. We now have to make this place more active.

@6 I tend to agree that it is hard to find some of the quality topics. I can see the benefit of providing alternative ways of sorting content (e.g. by most recent reply, by number of replies etc). I'd also like to see the margins on some pages shrunk down to like a maximum of 112 characters or close because it's quite W I D E on my monitor. It should be comfortable to read the text on a textboard, after all

... the API is also at a stage where a simple reader could be written, if we added POST endpoints then it's not hard to imagine a BBS-like terminal client for Bash or Powershell could be easily written.

Nah fuck bumping. There's like 10 active posters here at most. Sometimes there will be no posts in a week. New posts should be prioritized, not old threads considered "quality".

@9 you haven't made an argument against bumping
If one thread is more active than others, then it should be prioritized
Like you said, there are like 10 active posters, so there is no way that new threads would get buried under bumped threads

@10 Allowing bumping without having to make a new post in said thread does exactly that. It's artificial activity.

@11 I'm sorry, I thought it was obvious that I meant that replying to a thread would bump it, as I said "like Kareha"

@12 I've never used Kareha. We can already bring attention to a thread on the front page by posting in it, so I assumed it was some sort of bump button.

@13 That doesn't indicate which threads are more active though
