Hey, everyone. I'm slowly trying to phase the internet out of my life since I spend a significant portion of my waking hours on it and books stimulate my mind better.

Thank you for having me.

cutting down on internet time seems good, but getting it out of your life completely seems a little difficult in this day and age

in any case, I hope it works out well for you

reading is always nice

I’ve been noticing a lot more people are trying to spend less time on the web. It even has a website: https://nosurf.org/
I don’t get it myself but I have nothing else in my life so YMMV.

why not just read books on the internet

nothing wrong with light internet usage. obviously posting shit like this is a wasate of time, but it's a nice way to wind down for a bit after work. defintely better, in my mind, than tv. some people can wind down with a book, but i feel i need an intermediate period before i can truly focus and give something proper attention. anyway, just minimize internet like red meat and sugar and shit.

chatting on the internet is like going to a bar but without the alcohol
we all have an innate desire to socialize

I'm not necessarily trying to spend less time online but spend my time online doing better things than feeling like I'm mindlessly wasting time.

Also yeah, chatting on the internet is a lot like that.

@8 That's a good cause imo; I have to keep a check on how much I use the Internet on the day-to-day because any more than just a little bit turns into mindless, wasted time for me
